JOTA/JOTI Volunteers needed for October 2018

October is the time of year for Jamboree on the Air (JOTA). Amateur Radio helps the scouts get their communication badges in an organised joint event.

David Stansfield (G0EVV) has been approached to coordinate this year.  If you are able to help out from 08:00 until 16:00 on Saturday 20th October 2018 then we would love to hear from you.

As previously we will provide the activities necessary to achieve the communication badge. This is an opportunity to operate a Special Event Station where the Scouts send a greetings message, or to assist the Scouts to learn something about Amateur  Radio. This is an opportunity to go on the air and get experience. We run 3 stations on HF and VHF and tall about the phonetic alphabet and propagation with a little Morse thrown in.

Venue:  The House on the Hill, Hillhead Road, West Denton, Newcastle NE5 (just off A69) parking on site.

Let the secretary know if you would like to join in so we can get the numbers right.
