If you can't make it to the club join us on the GB3HA repeater on Wednesday nights.  Many of us come on to GB3HA between 20:00 and 21:00 local time on Wednesday nights. Newly licenced amateurs are particularly welcome. You dont have to be a club member to join in on the net.

Museums Day on the Air

ANARC operated in tough summer conditions at Gateshead's Bowling Green Club (Est 1856). We operated as GB2ANG on 18th June 2017. The onsite bar made conditions tolerable.

GB2AQY Special Event Station at the Bowes Railway Museum

Our special event station on 7th May 2017 was set up to celebrate the contribution by Dr Chris Herring (G7AQY), now silent key, to our radio club. Chris contributed to many events and to the learnign programme within the club. Sadly he passed away from cancer earlier this year.

We wanted to run a station in his memory to reuse part of his callsign to indicate the value the club placed in his involvement.

International Marconi Day at Blyth Battery

We celebrated the International Marconi Day on Saturday 22nd April 2017  at Blyth Battery. The World War I and II gun battery site that protected Blyth Harbour.

Working with members of the Tyneside Amateur Radio Club we ran a small station for most of the day on VHF and HF frequencies.

Pedantic fact: Marconi was born 25th April but this is the nearest suitable weekend.
